1 Salil Parekh, CEO and MD of Infosys

Infosys is a dream company for many youngsters who want to be part of an information technology firm. He got the position of CEO in 2017. At present, according to the annual report of Infosys, this firm has suffered a decline of 21%. However, he is still getting a huge salary which makes him the most paid CEO in India. As per FY 2023, the Managing Director of Infosys is getting a Rs 56.44 crore salary. He is getting a decent income of Rs 6.67 crore which makes him stand in the list of “Top 10 Richest CEO in India”.

 

2  C Vijayakumar, CEO and MD of HCL Technologies

In October 2016, C Vijayakumar was appointed as Managing Director and CEO of HCL Technologies after becoming a loyal and hard-working employee of the company. He joined HCLTech as a senior technical engineer in 1994. The journey of becoming the CEO of HCL is quite long and inspirational. Speaking about his income, the annual salary of C Vijaykumar is estimated at around Rs. 130 Crore. With this income, he is considered one of the most-paid CEOs in India and truly deserved to be in the list of “Top 10 Richest CEO in India”.

 

3 Rajesh Gopinathan, Former MD And CEO Of Tata Consultancy Services (TCS)

The position of CEO is highly reputable and brings a lot of responsibility and that is why Tata Consultancy Service gave this position to Rajesh Gopinathan. He took this position in 2017. As per the annual report of TCS, he received a total income of Rs 29.16 crore in FY 2023. If we look at his allowances and benefits he gets Rs 2.43 crore. Last year, he bagged Rs 25.75 crore which makes him the 5th highest-paid Chief Executive Officer in the IT industry of India. 

 

4 Sanjeev Mehta, CEO And MD Of Hindustan Unilever

The next name we are adding into the list of “Top 10 Richest CEO in India” is Sanjeev Mehta. In October 2013, he was appointed to the position of CEO at Hindustan Unilever. Under the guidance of Sanjeev, HUL became the leading consumer goods company in India and got Rs 22.36 crore as an annual salary as mentioned in FY23. Sanjeev has been working with the company for the last 10 years and with his innovative ideas and handwork, the annual turnover of the company is estimated at around Rs. 58,154 crores. 

 

5 Thierry Delaporte, CEO And MD Of Wipro Limited

One of the highest-paid salaries in the IT sector is received by Thierry Delaporte who is the  Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Wipro Limited. In June 2020, Thierry was appointed as MD and CEO. In FY23, he got an 82.2 Cr as compensation. He has given 27 years in the industry of IT services and with his leadership and expertise, he attained the position of one of the richest CEOs In India. Due to that, he truly deserves to get a huge salary which makes him stand in the 5th position of “Top 10 Richest CEO in India”. 

 

6 Puneet Chhatwal, CEO And MD Of Managing Director of Indian Hotel Company Ltd. (IHCL)

On November 6, 2017, Puneet Chhatwal was hired as Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of IHCL. As per FY23, Puneet gets Rs.18.32 Cr in the form of compensation. In the hospitality industry, Puneet has the experience of nearly 40 years and he has worked for many hotel groups based in North America and Europe. Due to his immense experience, he is helping his company to be in the top which ultimately helps him to get a good salary base and this is the reason that we are mentioning him in the index of “Top 10 Richest CEO in India”.

 

7  CP Gurnani, CEO And MD Of Tech Mahindra

CP Gurnani is one of those CEOs who is known to be the highest-paid CEO in India. The CEO and MD of Tech Mahindra is known for his great leadership and determination which helped the company to be on the list of top. According to the reports, Gurnani got approximately 50% less income in FY23 which means he received Rs. 32 crore in the form of compensation but still he is the highest paid CEO in India and known to be as top 10 Richest CEO in India. 

 

8  S N Subrahmanyan, CEO and MD Of Larsen & Toubro (L&T)

SN Subrahmanyan is the MD and CEO of an Indian multinational conglomerate Larsen & Toubro. This company specializes in financial services, engineering, construction, manufacturing and technology services. Before being appointed to L&T, he worked in the position of Chairman at L&T Metro Rail (Hyderabad) Limited. In the year 2011, he became part of Larsen & Toubro as a director and since then he focused on the growth of the company. The remuneration of SN Subrahmanyan in FY23 is Rs 35 Crore. 

 

9  Dinesh Kumar Khara, Chairman And Managing Director Of State Bank Of India

Dinesh Kumar Khara has been in the position of MD of SBI since August 9 2016. He is holding the position of Board level in SBI. In FY23, the chairman of SBI received Rs37 lakh in the form of compensation which is quite high as compared to last year. As per the annual report of the bank, Dinesh Khara gets an increase of around 7.5 per cent this year. 

 

10 Sandeep Kalra, CEO And Executive Director of Persistent Systems

In FY23, CEOs of smaller IT firms got higher paychecks as compared to major IT players. According to the reports of CNBC, the Executive Director and CEO of Persistent System received remuneration of Rs 61.7 Crore in FY23. Surprisingly, Sandeep Kalra gets the rank just below the CEO of Wipro who gets Rs. 82.4 Crore. The 3rd position is secured by the CEO of Mphasis, Nitin Rakesh who received Rs 59.2 crore.
