Business Women of the Year 2020 – Vol 2
“Nothing will work unless you do.”- Maya Angelou
Helen Keller once said, “Life is either a daring adventure or nothing at all.” Despite making huge
progress in women leadership, it is still considered a dare for women to become business persons.
Majority of people still see them as an aberration; seeing women doing business is yet to become
normal among a whole lot of orthodox people. Nonetheless, irrespective of all the hue and cry
among a set of people, business women and entrepreneurs have carved a niche in their domain.
Oprah Winfrey once said, “Follow your passion — and if you don’t know what it is, realize that one
reason for your existence on earth is to find it.”
In this issue, we have featured business women who followed their passion and made a mark for
themselves in their respective industry. Shunning all the fear and apprehensions, they listened to
their instincts and became successful in their domain. Arianna Huffington once said, “Fearlessness is
not the absence of fear. It’s the mastery of fear. It’s about getting up one more time than we fall
down.” They believed in building business success around what they love. Martha Stewart once said,
“Build your business success around something that you love — something that is inherently and
endlessly interesting to you.”
They never cared about what others thought about them. Their prime goal was to stand out and
have ideas that were truly original. In the words of Sophia Amoruso, “In whatever you do, you’re not
going to stand out unless you think big and have ideas that are truly original. That comes from
tapping into your own creativity, not obsessing over what everyone else is doing.” The potential of
business women has always been undermined but it’s time to give them their due credit. Hillary
Clinton once said, “Women are the largest untapped reservoir of talent in the World”.
