It is not the first time that a movie is talking about social issues but people are now openly welcoming such genres. “12th Fail” is one such movie that shows the reality of many UPSC aspirants and their journey. The director and the writer of this film are trying to raise questions about the Indian Education System! Simply said, the movie showcases the journey of a student named Manoj Kumar Sharma who paved his way towards becoming an IPS officer. This Hindi-language drama movie is constructed under the direction of Vidhu Vinod Chopra who is also the writer of it. 12th fail is the adaptation of the novel of same name written by Anurag Pathak. The film released on Friday, 27th October 2023 and within three, the film has earned approximately  Rs. 6.8 crore. Sunday’s collection of the film reported as Rs 2.8 crore and the 3-day box office collection of the film is Rs 6.42 crore. 

 

Besides it, the film has also registered higher Hindi occupancy on Sunday, 29th October 2023 at 24.41 percent. The collection indicated that the movie had opened with a collection of Rs 1.1 crore and concluded Saturday’s collection at Rs. 2.51 crore. Apart from Vikrant, Medha Shankar has also played the lead role in this film.

 

Reviews Of 12th Fail

As per the review of Hindustan Times, this film is “a honest and pure tale of success and failure”. Besides, it, Taran Adarsh, the film trade analyst states on Sunday that, “A nice film discovers its audience.” Another Trade analyst, Sumit Kadel states that it is a wonderful film that is based on a beautiful storyline which you can’t afford to miss. He also states this film to be the “most inspirational and heartwarming film of 2023”. On IMDb, the film has received 9.3 ratings out of 10 which is the clear sign that the movie is worth watching. The movie is well written and beautiful as well as powerfully depicting the existing situation of Indian students and the intellectual impact of fierce compeition on society. 

 

The director of the film is getting acclaimed for beautifully directing or addressing the sensitive topic. To become a government official, especially an IAS officer, is the dream of every middle-class student and this movie is featuring the struggle of every student who is dreaming to crack this top level examination.
