German Football Federation Mourns the Loss of Franz Beckenbauer

The passing news of a renowned Footballer has brought a shockwave in the sports world. According to multiple reports, a renowned German Football legend has left the world, leaving his fans and loved ones in deep sorrow. The late footballer has been identified as iconic legend, Franz Beckenbauer and at the time of passing he was 78 years old. The German Football Federation officially shares Franz Beckenbauer’s death news. His passing news is quite unexpected news to many of his fans and they are in shock and looking to know the cause of his sudden passing. 

The achievements and gameplay of Beckenbauer are not hidden from anyone and due to that he was a highly respected and legendary figure in football. The former center-back is also known for attaining the glory of winning the World Cup both as a  manager and as a player. Speaking about the death of a legendary figure in German football, he took his last breath on Sunday but his death was officially confirmed on Monday. Ever since his death, news surfaced on social media and media channels, and people are sharing their condolences and heartfelt messages.

Furthermore, his fans untied in German to mourn his unfortunate passing on Monday, 8th Jan. The natives of Germany along with the personalities from across the political and sporting landscape gave a big final goodbye to the late footballer aka “Kaiser”. The exact details of his unfortunate passing are not known but the reports suggest that he has been suffering from numerous ailments for a quite long time.  Due to his fight with several ailments, he had left his public life and used to spend most of his time in his residence. Apart from The German Football Federation, his death has been officially confirmed by his family. 

His family stated that that legendary figure of the Football community took his last breath peacefully in the surroundings of his family. At the time passing, he was in the Austrian city of Salzburg. His fans used to call him “Der Kaiser”. It is a German word that is used for the Emperor. This word describes how much people loved him, what kind of position he held in German football and why people are in deep sorrow after hearing his unfortunate death news. Despite leaving football for quite a long time, he was still popular among fans and a role model for several young footballers. The late footballer was revered as an icon of the game in post-World War II Germany. 

His death news is currently trending on social media and people are paying tribute to him through their social media accounts. Many renowned personalities are sharing their heartfelt messages and remembering him. Olaf Scholz, a German Chancellor stated on Monday, “We’ll miss him. He was one of the legendary and greatest footballers in the history of German football.” He further added that “the former midfielder inspired enthusiasm for German football for generations.” 

Ballon d’Or-winning midfielder, Lothar Mattheus also repeated the words of the German Chancellor and said “We will never forget his contribution to German football and no doubt, we will miss him. The shock is deep, despite knowing that he was not well.” 

It is worth noting that the former center-back won the World Cup twice. In 1974, he bagged the prestigious trophy and again in 1990 when he was holding the position of manager. He was popularly known as one of the greatest and proudest players in the history of the sport. He was also a member of an exclusive club alongside France’s Didier Deschamps, and Brazil’s Mario Zagallo. The list of his achievements is quite long and all the credit goes to his skills and distinguished abilities.
