Golden Globes Awards is one such prestigious ceremony that awards bestowed for excellence in both American and international film and television every year. The blockbuster films of 2023 including Barbie and Oppenheimer bagged many awards. Television series such as The Bear, Succession and several others won some accolades.
Winners and Nominees of Golden Globes Awards 2024
Out of eight nominations, the film Oppenheimer has successfully bagged five awards including the award for Best Film (Drama). Apart from that, actor Cillian Murphy won the award for Best Film Actor (Drama) whereas, Christopher Nolan accolades as Best Director for his direction in the film Oppenheimer. Not only this, Robert Downey Jr successfully bagged the award for Best Supporting Actor for his stunning acting skills as Lewis Strauss and Robert Oppenheimer in the same film. Actress Lily Gladstone managed to get the award for her best performance as a female actor in a Motion Picture. Her role in “Killers of the Flower Moon” made her win this award.
While receiving the award, the actress states “I am feeling extremely happy and this is a historic win. I am not the only one who belonged to this award, this is for all my beautiful sisters.” Her happiness is visible in her statements. Furthermore, the movie that won the award in the category of best musical/comedy award goes into the hands of “Poor Things”. The film features actress Emma Stone who plays the role of a deceased woman who again gets the chance to live her life by scientists. Not only this film has won an award but the actress also took the award as a female actor in the same category.
The award for the best performer as a male actor in the category of musical/comedy was won by Paul Giamatti for the film “The Holdovers”. Besides him, Da’Vine Joy Randolph also got an award for this film. After the film, the awards are distributed in the category of television. In this regard, the popular television series, Succession, managed to bag the best drama award. This TV series has won 4 awards which made it the most favourite series in 2023. Sarah Snook won the award for Best Female Actor whereas Kieran Culkin won the award for leading actor. The American comedy-drama television series, “The Bear” helped its stars Ayo Edebiri and Jeremy Allen White to win awards in the category of Best TV Comedy and Acting.
The storyline of “The Bear” is quite interesting as it features the struggles of a restaurant owner. Besides that, the Beef series won the title of the best television limited series. This series is addressing the issue of road rage. Now speaking about the awards of Barbie film, this film has won the award in the category of “The Cinematic And Box Office Achievement Award”. The intriguing storyline of the film has managed to get the space in nine nominations.
