The bomb threats through email have shaken Delhi-NCR schools’ premises. As per reports, more than 100 schools in the Delhi-NCR area received similar emails on Wednesday, May 1, which created a panic situation among parents. To ensure safety, all the schools that come to Delhi-NCR areas have sent students back to their homes. After that, the searches for the bombs began; however, no bombs were found when the schools were searched. The case has been lodged, and the investigation is still going on. No suspect has been found, and no arrest has been made so far.
Now the Ministry of Home Affairs shared a statement in this matter and said that nothing suspicious has been found and that these emails appeared to be hoax threats. The Ministry of Home Affairs urged the civilians to maintain their calmness and said that there was no need to be scared. Delhi Police made the same statement and said that it has made a thorough check of all schools that got the bomb threat over email. They will take strict action against the culprits; the case has been lodged, and the cyber cell has been trying to locate the IP address of the system that was used to send the emails.
Delhi Public School in Dwarka, Mother Mary’s School in Mayur Vihar, Delhi Public School at Vasant Kunj, Delhi Public School in Noida Sector 30, Sanskriti School in Chanakyapuri, and Amity School in Saket were among the first schools that got the bomb threats over the email. Lieutenant Governor VK Saxena states that police have already traced the origin of the hoax bomb emails. The reports added that a single IP address was used to send the hoax emails to schools. The email address is registered on a Russian domain; however, it is not yet known whether the email originated from Russia or not.
During an interview with a renowned media outlet, Suman Nalwa, the spokesperson of the Delhi Police, stated, “We are taking all appropriate measures at the schools that have received bomb threats. I request parents not to panic, as nothing suspicious has been found.”
Besides, LG VK Saxena had gone to DAV School in Model Town after the schools began to get bomb threats over email. Saxena said, “The Delhi Police has traced the origin of the emails. I assure the citizens of Delhi that the police are alert, getting leads, and will take strict action.”
