In an official statement, the family states “With a very heavy heart, we are saddened to inform you of the sad demise of Padmashri Pankaj Udhar on February 26, 2024, due to prolonged illness.”
According to the reports, the ghazal maestro left this world at 11 AM on Monday, 26 Feb at Breach Candy Hospital in Mumbai. The reports further added that, a few months back, he was diagnosed with cancer and avoided public interaction.

The reports suggest that the funeral ceremony of the singer will be performed on Tuesday, 27th February 2024. The daughter of the late singer, Nayaab also confirmed the passing news of his father through her social media platforms.
