Elon Musk is looking to land Starship on the Moon, Mars and Uranus
Elon Musk-owned SpaceX developed a fully reusable mega-rocket which has recently completed its fourth live test. The latest test concluded on 6th June 2024 and this success has filled excitement among the owner of Starship who developed SpaceX. All four live tests have broken the atmosphere of the Earth and with this success, founder Elon Musk is looking to land Starship on the Moon, Mars and Uranus. Moreover, Starship is progressing towards being an entirely reusable mega-rocket. Starships can easily take people and cargo to Mars, the Moon and Earth orbit.
The desire of Musk is not only limited to making a mega-rocket but also to establishing a human community on Mars. However, he has shifted his attention to Uranus. He shared his desire through a video that he posted on X (formerly Twitter). In the video, he commented, “My dream is to reach Uranus”. He also utters “We definitely want our rocket to reach Uranus. It’s a stretch goal to reach Uranus, but definitely something we should aim for.”
Furthermore, during a Sunday night live stream, Musk showed off the internet services of Starlink, the live-streaming capabilities of X, and his decent Diablo IV skills- Musk made a number of proclamations about his vision for interstellar advancement. Chief among them was reaffirming that SpaceX will attempt to land on Mars by 2027. He said, “I think we’ll launch the first Starship to Mars in less than three years. And things will really go exponential from there.”
Musk went on to say that the first voyage to Mars will involve “maybe three” ships. In the event that the landing is successful, SpaceX plans to deploy “20 or 30” ships a few years later, 100 ships on the third try, and eventually “1,000 ships going to Mars every rendezvous.”
Apart from that, Musk also talked about his new vision of reaching the 7th planet in the solar system. The video of Elon Musk has accumulated 49 million views so far and users have made several distinguished comments that have pulled a lot of attention. One of the comments read, “Those are the aspirations of true genius. One day we will get there due to this man.”
Another user wrote, “Your dreams tend to come true!”
One more user said, “You’re shooting for the stars! Keep reaching for the stars, who knows, maybe one day you’ll make it to Uranus!”
If the vision of Musk turns into reality, it would be a turning point in the history of mankind. The success of this dream will leave a significant mark. However, most people take his words as a joke as he is known for making whimsical jokes and for his witty nature.
It is worth noting that he once made a joke about Tesla which brought him under fire and was forced to resign from the post of chairman and slapped with a fine of $20 million each.
Speaking of the test of Starship, it has only been tested by SpaceX unmanned a few times thus far. The recent test was completed last week. X’s owner said on Sunday that, subject to FAA certification, he predicts a 5th launch in “about a month”.
