The preparations for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections are in full swing. The General Elections’s schedule for 2024 was shared by the Election Commission last week. The ECI announced that the upcoming elections will be held in 7 different phases and it will start from 19 April 2024 to 1 June 2024. Amid this election, students are worried that their examinations will surely be disrupted and in the wake of this, the examination dates of numerous examinations have been rescheduled including NEET PG.
It is the second time that the NEET PG examination has to be rescheduled, the new date sheet of the NEET PG 2024 Exam was shared by The National Medical Commission (NMC) on Thursday 2024. The National Eligibility cum Entrance Test Postgraduate (NEET PG) has been planned to be conducted on Sunday, 23 June 2024. The results of the NEET PG Exam 2024 will be out by 15 July 2024. As per the new NBE NEET PG 2024 dates, the counselling for admission will be conducted from 5 August to 15 October 2024. The NMC also mentioned that the cut-off date for eligibility to appear in the NEET PG 2024 will be on 15 August 2024.
After the result, the joining date for the new session will begin on 16 September 2024 and end on 21st October 2024. The selected students need to join the new session before the last date. Earlier, the date for the NEET PG 2024 Exam was decided to be on 7 July 2024 but after the revival, it is set for 23 June 2024. According to the new regulations that have superseded the Postgraduate Medical Education (Amendment) Regulations, 2018, the existing NEET PG exam will continue till the National Exit Test (NExT) becomes operational for admissions to Postgraduate medical programmes.
Due to that NExT will be postponed for a year. It is not official yet but NExT tentatively be launched in 2025. It is worth noting that the examination was planned to begin in 2023. NEET PG Exam 2024 was initially notified to be tentatively conducted on 3 March then it was planned to take place on 7 July 2024. But now, NBE revised it twice and released the new dates for the examination along with other necessary information.
25 % Of Negative Marking
Those who are preparing for this examination need to know that there shall be a 25% negative marking for each wrong answer, so attempt it carefully. However, there will be no negative marking for unattempted questions.

Examination Pattern Of NEET PG 2024
The question paper for this examination will consist of 200 Multiple Choice Questions and each question will have 4 response options in English language. Candidates needed to choose the best/correct/most appropriate response/answer out of the 4 response options provided in each question. The total duration for the examination is 3.30 hrs. The examination will be conducted in a single day & single session as a computer-based examination. The NEET PG 2024 will be conducted across the nation at numerous examination centers.
